Here She Is!!

Gwendolyn Ivy Pollard was born on Monday, May 19. She weighed 6 lb. 15 oz. and is 20 inches long. Needless to say.....we could eat her with a spoon! Her granddaddy has a "spell" on her in the last pic! Mom had to have a C section and was in hard labor for about 17 hours, but both are doing well. Lyle (son) is absolutely crazy about his little girl. He is very attentive to everything Gwen and mom needs. I had to beg to change her diaper! That's a good thing though....I'd rather see him that way than the other way. Our daughter Leigh is pregnant again! She goes to the doctor for the first visit the first week in June. We are all so excited for her and Brandon. Our prayer is that she will be able to deliver a strong healthy baby this time. Help us pray for that. Love to all!

I was reading a friend's blog (the other Jenni) and viewed some beautiful pictures she had taken! This inspired me to show off some of my pics! I love taking pictures, I'm a snapaholic! So here's some of my family! Love to all!

Surprise!!

Hi ya'll!!! I can't believe I haven't blogged since last December!! I've been keeping up with you guys though! I still look at your blogs all the time and love it! What can I say, it's just been crazy busy in my world. We are finally in the short rows of the remodel, I call it the "house gutting"! We have 2 rooms to go and we'll be finished with the inside. Thank the good Lord! I tell ya, when you do something like this it takes every minute you have, and I always need more minutes! I had to give up being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I really hated to do that, but I just didn't have the time to devote to it. (Thanks for understanding Carol)! I'm also going to be babysitting the new granddaughter when she gets here in May, so between that and the office and taking care of my mother and keeping an eye out for Danny's mother, well you get the idea......no spare time! I'm going to do some wall art soon for the new kids room, so I'll post my masterpieces when I get them finished! I've missed ya!

About Our Little One

Little Tristan Isaiah Davies was born Friday morning. He died just before he was born which was a blessing........we didn't have to see him struggle at all. We all had our special time with him. The graveside service was held on Sunday and was beautiful. Thank you for all of your prayers and concerns. Please continue to pray for our family in the days to come. We know Tristan is having a wonderful time in heaven! Praise be to GOD!

Hey Everybody!!

Wow....I didn't realize it had been as long as it's been since I blogged! So much has consumed my life since the last blog. On a sad note.....my sister's 8 month old grandson passed away last week and needless to say, we have all been a wreck! He was a precious little one in every way. He always had a smile on his face. Our consolation is that we know that he is in the arms of Jesus! My daughter is well into her 5th month of pregnancy and we have bad news concerning her baby. He has Type II Thanatophoric Dwarfism. This means that he will not survive after he is born. She and her husband have accepted it, but it is oh so sad anyway you look at it. They both have tremendous faith and know that God has a purpose for this. I covet your prayers for all of us as we try to prepare for his birth and death. The positive thing in this situation is that all the test have shown that this was a random thing and that she will be able to have a normal healthy baby in the future! Praise God! My son and his wife are also expecting a little one, she is 3 months, and so far, everything seems to be great! My other son, his wife and 3 girls are wonderful! Life is so hard to figure out sometimes, but I'm so glad I know who holds the future! Maybe I'll have some goodies to show soon! Love to all of you and thank you for being my blogging friends!

I'm Back!!!

Maybe some of you missed me!?! I haven't had time to blog and I've missed it! I finally caught up on my browsing...you guys are awesome and creative, and such an inspiration to me! Thanks! I am suppose to be at "Taste of Stamping" tonight with Carol and Rita and about 15 other stampers, but I've had a migraine all day (yuck) and have just now started to feel a little better (8 pm) so I thought I'd try to catch up here! I had a booth at Farmer's Day this past Saturday, here's some goodies I made! The little matchbooks have magnets on the back. I hate the glare that's on the pics.....I need to take them during daylight hours! I'll get better at that. Gotta go....the old head is hurting again. Love ya girls!

Getting Ready for Farmer's Day!

Hey everybody! Here are a few things I'm making for a vendor booth I'm doing at our local festival on October 13. Whew......that was a long sentence! The annual festival is called Farmer's Day. Main Street is lined with vendors of all kinds along with entertainment, tractor show, car show, kids rides, parade, etc. I wasn't going to have a space because I didn't think I would have enough time to prepare, but I decided what the heck! So.......now I'm bustin' my butt to get everything ready! Just thought I'd show off a few of my things! I'll have more later!

Scrapbook Page

I'm trying to get into the scrapbooking mode again. I've had cards on my mind lately! I actually did this one for a workshop that my friend was hosting. She's going to be grandma again and it's a girl! We're hoping to find out the sex of our March grandbaby on Oct. 1 if the little thing cooperates! We are hoping for a boy. We've got 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons, so we just need to even it out!

I'm In The Mood For FALL!

I'm definitely getting in the spirit of autumn, even thought it's still 90 degrees outside! I love this time of year, especially the cooler weather (hopefully soon) and the colors it brings! I used my new stamp set Holiday Blitz for these cards. I love, love, love this stamp set! It's got all the little stamps of the seasons, holidays and occasions along with a few little sentiments thrown in! It's one of my favorites.

I'm Back!

Hey ya'll! Well, I finally found some time to load some of my goodies on the blog! I have been swamped lately to put it mildly! As "caretaker" of my mother and my late daddy's house, I moved my sister and her husband out (their choice), and fixed up the place and moved my niece and nephew in! Whew! I'm sooooo glad it's done! There's still small things to do but the majority of it is finished. Yeah!
Here are some cute little "matchbooks" that I made for a vendor fair at Campbell University which is about 6 miles from my house. I put my name and info on address labels and stuck them inside. I got the pattern from a fellow stamper Rita (childsplaywithrita.blogspot.com). She gave me the cutest.....she did a snowman on the front and leaves on the back and colored it in. Thanks Rita!

What A Day!

What a fun day I've had today! This has been MY day! I've been in MY room, right by MYself, stampin' and scrappin' and foldin' and tearin' and punchin' and.........ok........I'll stop! I've been preparing for a workshop tomorrow and I have just had a ball! I've brainstormed so much that my head hurts....but a good hurt! I got into my Versamark today. I am really looking forward to the Fall, so I decided to do a 6 x 6 scrapbook page. I really like doing the smaller scrapbooks. Hope you like! Can you tell I've had fun today?!?!

Friends and Stamping!

My friend Susan came over Thursday and we stamped for a few hours. The cards are for a dear friend of hers, and the other is for her son's birthday. This little sweetie is her daughter Brooke with her very own stamped wall art! You go girl! She wants to frame this and hang it on her bedroom wall. Let's start them stamping while they're young! This was the first time Susan had seen all of my stampin' stuff......I think she's hooked!! YES!!

I Just Had To Share!

Here's Megan! She is the youngest granddaughter who will turn 3 in October. She holds her little flag and recites the Pledge of Allegiance word for word! She tickles me when she says "to the weepubwick"! She is just one of the highlights of my life!

Son's Birthday Card

This is a card I made for my son's birthday....he turned 27 on Tuesday. Oh how I remember that day 27 years ago!! I was in labor for 24 hours!! It was worth it and it's amazing how some things you never forget....like I can still think about that certain kind of pain and I almost feel it!! I have to brag on him....he is a wonderful man, husband, father and son. The Lord has really blessed us with good kids! OK....enough from the doting mother! Happy Day!

Finally...a scrapbook page!

I finally took the time to finish this scrapbook page today! I just haven't taken the time to put a picture in it or journal it! I LOVE using this alphabet! I'm sad that it retired this year. Oh well, I can use it for my personal stuff! Happy Scrappin'!

A Baby Girl Gift Tag

I needed a quick little gift tag to put on a baby girl basket and this is what I came up with! I didn't have any of the cute rhinestone brads so I used a pink bead to dot the i with! Since I don't have a sewing machine I poked little holes around the edges and used my white Signo gel pen and just tied a little bow with rick-rack. I thought it turned out pretty cute!

Only 1 Baby!

In a previous post I let everyone know that I was going to be a grandma again! We found out today that my daughter is just having one baby! She had an ultrasound and there was only one to be found! She said she told the nurse to be sure and look everywhere she could and to make sure there wasn't one hiding out somewhere in there! We saw the little "peanut" on cd.....it's amazing to see that tiny little thing as it looks now, and know that in several months there will be a baby! God is so awesome with his creation!

Paisley Pocketbook

Here's a cute little pocketbook that I made at a workshop at my upline Carol's house. It's Stampin' Up! of course! This would be neat to fill with crimped paper or tissue paper and add
little goodies as party favors, secret pal gifts, etc. Very easy to make!

Polka Dots and Paisley Card

I like using the Pastel Chalks....on this card I used SU's Polka Dots and Paisley stamp set, Sahara Sand card stock, Tempting Turquoise card stock, White card stock, Black stampin' pad, creme ribbon, and the Pastel's. I took a Q-tip and rubbed on the pastel chalk to make a smudgy look!

Masculine Gift Tag

We are always doing something frilly for the gals and something fun for the kids, but we need to scale down a little for the guys! My husband likes simple things, most men do! So this is a nice little gift tag for them.....I used SU's Heartfelt Thanks stamp set, Fresh Fillers background stamp, Glorious Green card stock, Sahara Sand cardstock, Old Olive stampin' pad, cream ribbon, Always Artichoke buttons. I'm going to demo this at my next workshop!

I'm Gonna Be Grandma Again!

Yeah! I found out this past weekend that my daughter is going to have a little one next March! That means more stampin and scrappin to do! I'm very far behind on my scrapbooking now but maybe I can catch up a bit during the winter months! I have 5 grandchildren and this will be my daughters first so we are all excited! We find out next week if it's one or two! Twins run in the family! I'll let you know when I know!
